New Floor Installation System Is Stronger and Technically Superior to Current Market Offerings

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, JUNE 10, 2008 (NeoCon 2008) – Gerflor, a global leader in the design and manufacture of vinyl resilient floor coverings, today announced winning the Grand Prize award in the category of Product Performance from Buildings magazine for its new floor installation system Tarafit®. Gerflor’s Tarafit was chosen from more than 150 applicants exhibiting at the 2008 NeoCon World’s Trade Fair. Judges selected 24 “Citation of Excellence” award winners across nine categories based upon written submittals, and awarded Grand Prize winners after multiple on-site viewings.

Tarafit improves the overall cleanliness of the vinyl floor by creating corners that are rounded as opposed to angular, which allows standard cleaning equipment to rid the floor corners of dust or disease causing agents. The new profile is also stronger and longer lasting than conventional flooring by using a heat welding method.

On Tuesday, June 10 during NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2008 in Chicago, Gerflor’s Tarafit was viewed on-site by the Buildings editorial staff and was announced as the Grand Prize winner at the Buildings showroom in booth 8-9130A at 11:00 a.m.
